As a STEM (and STEAM) outreach speaker and conference attendee, I agree wholeheartedly. I would up the ante and make it a statue of 4 multiracial women working together as a team making sure to include an African American woman. Their numbers were very low in a recent county wide MS and HS county science fair I attended as a judge.

my daughter is starting engineering next year and I want her to see role models everyday on campus. keep it up!
