We, the signatories of this petition, hereby request to the Florida College administration and Leadership Dinner committee that Mr. Phil Robertson (aka Duck Commander) be selected as guest speaker for the 2014 Florida College Leadership Dinner. We believe Mr. Robertson is qualified in every aspect of leadership that is the basis for the event. The following are a partial list of his accomplishments: All-State in Football, Baseball, & Track in High School Won a football scholarship to Louisiana Tech University where he was the starting quarterback - ahead of Terry Bradshaw, the quarterback who would go on to win 4 Super Bowls in the NFL. Although scouted by NFL teams, chose to follow his passion instead of advance to the NFL. Earned a Master's Degree in education and taught for several years. Invented a duck call in 1972 that revolutionized the duck hunting industry and is still considered the best available. "Duck Commander", his family business, has since grown to a multi-million dollar empire. Now has a television series on A&E called "Duck Dynasty" that has garnered over 4 million viewers and counting. Duck Dynasty is perhaps the only reality TV show - and only show on TV - that promotes Godly morality and a God-centered, functional family. And finally, his greatest achievement: He is an elder in the Lord's Church. For all of these reasons, we see no reason why Mr. Phil Robertson would not make an ideal guest speaker at the 2014 Leadership Dinner. With ticket prices going up, there is a necessity that the guest speaker be qualified as well as familiar to the audience, and Mr. Robertson lacks neither. Thus, we hereby request that Mr. Phil Robertson be seriously considered and/or selected for the 2014 Florida College Leadership Dinner.
