Sign this petition to have enough people to get Sheriff Hunt kicked out of his position!
Under Virginia law, a judge may remove a constitutional officer for neglect of duty, upon petition.
In Hunt's case, that would require the signatures of at least 1,545 registered voters -- 10 percent of the total number of people who cast ballots in the 2007 sheriff's election.
Precisely 8,299 people voted for somebody other than Hunt in that four-way contest.
Under the circumstances, it shouldn't be that hard to round up 1,550 signatures calling on a judge to give the sheriff the boot.

Finally some accountability. This guy acts like he owns the place and ignores the rules everyone else has to follow.
We need someone in that office who actually respects the people they are supposed to serve. Hunt has had his chance and he blew it.
Ewell Hunt has been bad news for this county for years. Time for him to go. Glad people are finally doing something about it.
Ridiculous that he is still in office. His behavior is an embarrassment to VA law enforcement.
About time. hope this actually leads to him being removed he is a disgrace to the uniform.
