AGREE! This needs to be changed ASAP! Some women feel they are entitled to do nothing all day so that they can collect a bigger pay out at the end. Its sickening. This law should be changed to reflect all the evidence. Sometimes, the father is the better parent and he should not have to pay for the mothers poor choices when raising their child.

I think father's should have just as much time with his kids as the mother and for our country to stop being one sided I'm a mother and if it was me I'd be just as mad

Along with Family Law reform, child support needs reformed. Too many women are stealing from their children's fathers. So many fathers are working and handing over half their paycheck and don't even get to see their kids half time. The system is making it impossible to get ahead! Please reform Family Law and Child Support!!

I am the father of a 3 year old daughter. My ex threw me out for another man. She did not have my name placed on our daughters birth certificate and always said I had no rights to her. The state in which she lives and was born informed me that for me to have rights I must do a paternity test to prove I was her father. I did paternity and was still told the same thing. Now they claim I have no rights but yet are making me pay child support. My ex has cut of any and all communication I had to my daughter

98% or residency is given to the mother. How is this equal rights? The government, family courts and all their affiliates are killing dad's literally. Equal residency should be assumed. Enough of gender wars. Actually put the children first

Sign for my twin boys I have custody of after 2years of fighting for them. And the unnecessary hell they had to go through with their mother that eventually proved I was the better fit parent from the beginning. But the Judge wouldn't listen.

Since my ex-partner walked out three years ago social services obstruct my every attempt to have contact with my 11 year old daughter. Every new unfounded accusation by my ex is treated as an undeniable truth. All the proven evidence I produce to show her as a liar is ignored. as is the proof I give to them and in the court of her mental instability. £43,000+ legal costs to get nowhere.

I agree with you, I also believe that we should be given joint custody as well. In my case, the mother and I weren't in a abusive relationship or anything for her to have full custody but the mother living with her parents is in her best interest? I believe both parents need to be in the child life equally. There needs to be a change. I'm tired of seeing parents not being able to have a relationship with their children because the court sides with the mother, even though they advise that isn't the case but I see it all the time. Even mothers with drug addiction have been given full custody. The change needs to happen now.

The government needs to understand that when a women the creator spreads her legs and engages in sexual activity she needs to take full responsibility for what the outcome of that act may be. She should hold the stronger burden as she has the choice to or not have that child. Infact she can disappear once impregnated and do whatever she choose with no say on the fathers part. She can even show up years later and tell the father that you are the father and owe back and future child support. This is not fair or healthy power or rights structure.

There are less legistration protecting fathers rights then there are of animals. My ex wife went to jail twice for domestic violence, and they still awarded her the kids. She has kept my kids from me for 6 months now violating my visitation rights, and the courts dont seem to care. This is the second time I have had to take her to court for contempt, and can only hope they finally do something. The time and damange she has took, and done cant get back to me. I must add Im a combat veteran of the Afghanistan War, and disgusted with how the system just seems not to care that my rights are constantly violated even after I sacrifised my life for this country. The system is a joke.

If a women commits adultery than the father should get the kids and she should have to pay child support or the mother should not get child support instead have to get a job.

It's about time men were recognised by the courts.

Fathers deserve equal rights from birth just as mothers do. Children need both parents. I feel your pain This is unjust.

The legal system is biased against father's and in this day and age, with women using father's and the government for a supplemented income it's seriously a flawed system. I can work every day of my life and pay for everything my son will ever need, but his mother couldn't survive a month on her own without child support and free state assistance. Not to mention the obvious flaw in the fact a mother can simply tell a father no, or chose for him how and when he can see his child and this must change. I get that a mother carries a child for 9/10 months but she couldn't even get pregnant without our seed so this biased and flawed system MUST CHANGE.

My son is currently fighting to see his child the doctor out him on a depression medicine and it made him go crazy. He tried killing his self and all of his rights were taking away after being cleared by 3 physiatrist. That it was the medication that made him like that we flushed the rest of the medicine down the toilet.

The law in England discriminate against fathers. This discrimination is aganist human law of untied nation which states every human being should be treated to others irrespective of gender, race, sexual orintation, religous beliefs. Fathers rights the father and the mother should have equal rights to the children and neighter should have to buy the other child support they both have to support and provide for the children when they have them they both have to pay rent and by food and clothes and shoes and coats and toys and pay car payment utilities !! I believe that it is a medieval misconception that children are best with the mother. In some circumstances. The father is the better option for the wellbeing of the child.

The mother of my grandsons little boy has moved to deepest wales with him. She won't school him she's vegan and spends all her time painting! He was in school all last week and loved it. She teaches him nothing. Sorry had to vent. My grandson can get help from nobody. Can't afford the money to fight.

i am very sad rrgarding the condition that men r forced to live in this country and i firmly believe that we cannot love peacefully in silence and have to raise our voices in unity .

Being a grandparent seeing domestic abuse directed towards my family is appalling. The social work have ignored my son and offered advice and assistance to the offender. The police normally follow domestic violence up by contacting the victim...no contact.....so if the victim is female the social work and police contact the victims and follow the enquiry up fully. Because a male is involved the case is ignored as the authorities discriminate against males. Positive discrimination at the highest level. How long can this go on. The criminal justice system is corrupted in favour of females and no one takes cognisance of a genuine complaint from a male victim. The female is afforded priority treatment and allowed to dictate what happens to two lovely children caught up in such a scenario. Again positive discrimination displayed against the male victim having little or no say in the custody of the children. When will the government or someone in the home office actually take stock of what is happening in their domain and actively review the legislation and procedures of the police and social services because at the moment they don't have a clue if a male is the victim. I believe there is an equal opportunities commission which looks at unfair treatment or discrimination, why is this area of business ignored. Why has the government ignored this anomaly for so long. Why has the home office consistently ignored requests to have domestic violence re visited in respect of male victims. It is clear from the biased departments that males are classed as primary perpetrators. Statistics do show the majority of males as the perpetrators but no one in an authoritive position will put their head above the parapet and speak out for males.

This disgusting bias of law has been blatantly obvious during my brothers case. The police have no idea how to handle a domestic situation where the male is the victim,and social work, regardless of the victim, will always support the female. I am a female and I already think this is a gross misuse of power. The social work advise women to lie in order to hinder their male partner, who has received nothing but verbal and physical abuse. Men are not deserving of this mistreatment!!! They deserve the right to prove that they are the more suitable and safer parent for the children so that they may gain full custody never mind having to fight daily to try see their children. I am sickened by the amount of men who are diminished and degraded and assaulted by their ex partners and yet the female is always looked on in the eyes of the law as the victim. It is disgusting!!! Men deserve better!!! How dare we suggest that it is worse for a female to be domestically abused than a male! The law needs to start recognising the huge misjudtice that occurs when a male parent is domestically considered insignificant because he is the male. Women should not automatically gain all the benefits and support. I'm appalled at the behaviour of several organisations in not tackling this injustice.

I stand by any father who is loving enough to fight for their child/ren. I think fathers should have just as much rights as mothers do. If a father was to pack up and move with the child/ren it would be classified as kidnapping, but when mothers do it, its fine and the courts side with them and say that the mother has more rights. I believe in equal rights among parents. Children need both parents equally for their optimal development. Children are the future and problems occur when lacking parental visititation to both parents. Research proves that 50/50 is in the best interest of the children.

I was a Mother of 3 boys, I worked full-time to support my Children. Never demanded child support. Carried insurance on children. Women want equal rights. .courts need to give them equal rights... in all issues. The courts allow the Mother to us their child to hurt the father's. Shared parenting. ...no child support. Split medical bills, visitation every other week. If a Mother says "I cannot afford the child."..and the Father says he can and proves it. The Father should be custodian and residential parent. The Mother still gets the same rights as Father except he is not demanding child support Stop these Mother's from using their Child as a weapon. These Mother'ss go buy a new vehicle and purchase name brand household furniture and purchases a house. After cry they cannot afford it and demand child support. Yet the Father has equal responsiblities and drives and ild vehicle, buys a house he can afford and furniture/ appliances he can afford. Goes without to ensure he can provide for his Child. Works full time job to ensure he can maintain a home for his parenting time and still have time with his child. The Mother and courts make it hard for father's demanding child support, which makes the Father work two jobs today meet these demands. What happens...Father's have to give up presious time with their child in order to make child support payment. Help stop this injustice

My son is currently fighting his ex for visitation until custody goes to trial. She has done everything she possibly could and is still doing it to keep the paperwork going back and forth between lawyers and my son hasn't seen his baby girl in 6 weeks. He was a very active parent in all aspects since birth and she has accused him of so many heinous things that we have proved are lies, but her lawyer keeps submitting stupid letters which only delay things. Now they will only allow him 4 hours supervised once a week and none of his family is allowed to see her. I miss my grandbaby so much and my son is devastated and we are running out of money. We have spend $8000.00 so far and we still can't see her. I don't know what else we can do.

The court systems MUST change! I can't tell you how much I am sickened by the courts NOT allowing (or limiting) rights to the willing and able father! This is an act of heinous child abuse! This is about the child's well-being, not because of an angry parent who can't get over his/herself. And, lawyers and judges, you are contributing to the problem just as bad as the narcissistic sociopath alienating parents. WHY?!!! Can't you read beyond the lies! Do the right and fair thing! I am absolutely shocked that the laws are still this way. So biased and unobjective. It should be based upon a case to case basis where both parents are looked at and how they've been present with the children. What the kids want should be listened to and considered as well. Instead I am a step mom who cannot sleep at night worrying about two sweet kids who live in a dysfunctional house hold and cry when they have to leave our house during visits.

My significant other is fighting tooth and nail to have his rights as a father to his son, and regardless of the mother’s drug and alcohol abuse, financial dependency on her parents and legal troubles with others, the court is prepared to grant everything she wants regarding custody simply because she is his mother. His son and him even have an incredibly tight bond plus he can provide a loving, stable, non violent home but since he is the father he may not have the chance. It’s hard for me to watch a genuine injustice and fail in the system.
