Many years ago Dr Max Calabresi, chief of internal medicine at the West Haven VA, was denied membership at POYCC because he was Italian. He fought it and won. After he got in he informed the membership that he was also Jewish
I hope the decision to deny someone membership is not based on nationality or religion. We are better this that.

A recent letter from the president states that the action by the board was precipitated by Mr Farids behavior
If this is so, what process occurred to ensure Mr Farids rights in the accusation? What was the behavior, what notification did the club provide to Mr Farid about said behavior , and what was Mr Farids response?
This information must be provided to allow members to assess the validity of this atrocious action on the part of the board based on xenophobia

I challenge any club member who has not yet been introduced to the Farids, but has somehow formed an opinion, to meet them, talk with them, observe their family interactions, and not come away with the impression that this family represents all the ideal qualities that POYCC looks for in its membership. Can you imagine the discussion Mr. Farid had to have with three children under the age of ten? I fully support the Farid's membership in the POYCC.

I have not had the pleasure of meeting the Farid family so I cannot comment one way or the other as far as their membership. However if they were denied for the reasons described in Kamran's email I support the petition. If there are other reasons for the decision to deny membership then I cannot support the petition.

How DUMB (and racially insensitive?) can our BOARD MEMBERS be? ....... SURELY -- They DO NOT represent our fine membership! SO-SAD for POYCC!
Maybe THEY-ALL as a group (our Board) should PAY when WE lose in court. Since stupidity/bigotry is individualized -- WHY should OUR CLUB be penalized?
