In July 2013, the Gibson International Family Reunion will reconvene in the exciting city of Miami, Florida. As our tradition dictates, this biannual event is an opportunity for Gibson family and friends to gather for fun and fellowship. It is of great concern that the per adult $200 early registration fee, has increased a whopping 43% over last year, with an on-site charge of $325, and a Banquet-only charge of $150. We do not consider these costs family-friendly, and in fact only discourage attendance. We've also been told that voting will only be allowed to those who have registered - an unprecedented act.
The names listed on this petition request that the reunion committee revamp and reconsider these costs in order to allow more of us to attend. We urge them to remember the family mission statement which states that we, "...actively foster a bond of brotherhood, fellowship, communication and friendship among those descended from the Gibson lineage of the Bahamas - the descendants of Guinea Jim."
It is not too late for the committee to reconsider the impact this change will have in 2013, and on future reunions. We trust the host committee believes in family harmony and solidarity and will recognize that a house divided cannot stand.

This is way too much money just to see family. We should be trying to get everyone together not blocking people out because they cant afford 300 bucks.
