In Vancouver BC a veterans project was developed after the second world war.It was in Renfrew Heights where houses were built especially for war veterans with at least 2 children,to raise their families.The streets where these houses were built were named after various events and battles related to the War years.Families grew up there at a time when life was simple and pure...children on the street playing with other children ,but children raised from the same background and in the same economic state.Of course it was difficult for parents to raise their kids when they were sometimes war scarred and with little means.They persevered and to this day the children who grew up there have a special affinity for each other.We feel that the parents who raised their kids in this "project"need to be memorialized for their efforts to their country and to their children.
