I was able to get wording added to National Farmers Union policy this last week that calls for NMR testing on all imported honey.

Thus was always a concern I've had when buying honey. The consumer needs to be protected and know if it's 100% real bee made honey

I know Germany was making synthetic honey as back as World War 1 and it wasn't popular then but because of rationing it was make do. We have a homespun honey industry in this country and in supermarkets. Buy the U.S. honey locally and from U.S. honey only. Leave the "blended" from foreign honey alone. Plus we need our bees. Anywhere you drive through the countryside in Louisiana, you see bee boxes (replace the hives). I'm sure it's the same in other states.
