Premier Andrews, your roadmap has consistently undervalued and discriminated against all people of faith who have established education, built hospitals, formed charities, created employment, is the largest welfare provider outside the govt, built residential aged care beds, hospices and palliative care services, has a huge volunteer network and has contributed to law and order as we know it in this country. Please be mindful to appreciate the precautions religious people have set in place, giving them parity with all other sectors of the community and do not oppress them any longer. Religious people are all in this together too.

What is happening in Victoria is unbelievable. I often wonder why members of my family went to war with some dying. They did so, to fight for freedom.

A Church can and should be accessible when other places are open as well. A service is usually only for an hour at a time anyhow.

This petition is timely and appropriate and should be taken up and presented to the Victorian government courteously but resolutely so that this bourgeoning dictatorship can see its opinions are its own and not necessarily shared by the governed. My guess is that our views will be dismissed out of hand and, if so, we should not be surprised. For this reason we should have the next steps mapped out but not via this medium for obvious reasons.

The limit of five people in our spacious churches is ridiculously unfair.

The churches are large enough to practice safe distancing. Precautions can be made prior to and during mass to restrict the spread of the virus.

For us faithful and practising Catholics, the sacraments are an ESSENTIAL service by feeding our souls, just as important as the essential service of supermarkets in feeding our bodies. The mental and emotional anguish that you have caused by denying us our God given rights to the sacraments is going to have dire consequences. And you will have to answer to Almighty God when the time comes for belittling our spiritual needs.

Spiritual, religious subjugation is not acceptable. Churches can safely hold 50 to 100 parishioners, more space, ventilation than pubs, cafes, restaurants. We are being discriminated against. Stop the discrimination.

I cant understand why people can bathe in an open public swimming pool or go to beach in large numbers, and parks as well but our churches remain closed. A large church building with people more- than-the- required- social- distancing is forbidden. sigh
