The negative impact on people’s emotional, spiritual and mental state caused directly by having harsher restrictions imposed on places of worship must be considered. This consideration having taken place should result in all people of faith, including over 2 million people in Melbourne, having the opportunity to safely practice their faith in their churches and places of prayer, unhindered by potential fines.

There are at least 25 people inside a bank, 50 people inside the supermarket, 400-1000 students and staff at school, yet people of faith are deprived from entering their place of worship! To add to that, only 5 people can go to their place of worship outside!! How absurd! Premier, you keep making inconsistent, illogical and unfair decisions. People of faith need and want to practise their faith, and inside their place of worship, especially during these difficult times. It’s time to open the doors of our places of worship!

Please allow us to gain the spiritual sustenace and support of our church and our church friends. We need this for our mental and spiritual health. We have obeyed all your laws and shall continue to do so if you allow us to worship in our churches. Our liturgies naturally require us to stay in one place, we neither sing nor interact with each other, our churches are large enough to apply social distancing so we won't be a threat to each other or to the spreading covid 19. Please consider our plea.
