PARENTS FOR FAIRREPORTCARDS PETITION Given the overwhelming evidence provided to the Cleveland City School board by Parents for FairReportCards, we urge that teachers be required to: 1. Report percentages on each measured academic standard and an average percentage for each subject area. 2. Provide a written midterm report on the academic progress of each student. 3.Incorporate all student work into academic assessments. Additionally, we request that parents be involved in all aspects of discussion, planning, and implementation for any current or future system-wide changes in curriculum or reporting systems. Parents for FairReportCards is a parent advocacy group whose research has demonstrated that the current CCS standards based reporting has not been created or implemented in keeping with well documented, efficacious standards. Additionally, these fundamental flaws have made the system unclear and ambiguous, rendering parents helpless in the educational process. Providing parents with percentage points for each academic standard would allow them the ability to have a true understanding of their child's academic standing and re-establish their parity in the educational process.
