We, the undersigned, petition Somerset County Council to Resume the 'paid seat' school bus service for children aged 9-14 years from Axbridge to Fairlands.

The council has withdrawn this service with only 2 weeks notice.

Parents who use this service clearly don't have alternatives otherwise they wouldn't pay £695 per child per academic year.

Not having this service available will be detrimental to local house prices as well as the local economy.

The council's proposed alternative of children walking down the Strawberry Line, around the reservoir or using the local public bus service not only raises serious safe harbouring issues but also over capacity on the public bus.

If we don’t fight to get this back now then there will never be an opportunity to fight again but we will all continue to pay forever increasing council taxes.
