Fatima's Story Fatima Hussein al-Badi, a housewife with four children was sentenced to death on 17th February 2001 after an unfair trial. She and her brother were arrested on 13th July 2000 for the murder of her husband, Hamoud Ali al-Jalal. Fatima has always maintained her innocence. She was reportedly tortured by police in detention but refused to confess. According to reports, her brother also denied that the two of them had committed the murder, but he confessed later, after the police assured him that if he did so, they would let Fatima go. It is reported that during their trial, Fatima and Abdullah had no legal representation, and were silenced whenever they tried to speak in court. Fatima's Brother, Abdullah, was executed on 2nd May 2005. Her sentence was not carried out because her lawyer made a special appeal to the president, but she remains at risk of execution. All we ask is that you support this case with Amnesty International and sign the Petition to hopefully get Fatima a fair Trial

JUSTICE FOR FATIMA. This trial was a total joke and she needs to be home with her kids now.

this is sickening. how can anyone be sentenced to death without a lawyer?! her brother died for nothing and she has been sitting there for years while innocent.
