Dear Member of Parliament

We concerned citizens of Canada urging you and the Canadian government to tackle the international issue of fair trade and the ethical treatment of workers. As a developed nation Canada has many laws and regulations regarding the ethical treatment of Canadian workers but yet their is no such laws enforcing the sale of products created by unethical practises. The Canadian people believe that fair trade and ethical treatment of workers is important and should be maintained regardless of whether they live in Canada or else where, this is why I am urging the Canadian governments to implement some international and domestic regulation prohibiting the sale of products created by workers the are taken advantage of.

For those who are not aware of what fair trade is, it is simply the fair pay and working conditions for farmers and producers. Fair Trade products are made in safe and healthy working conditions, where farmers and producers receive a fair price and have a voice in how their workplace is run. In many countries with little to no worker rights regulation workers are take advantage of they are paid as little as possible and have to work long hours dangerous environments in-order to lower the cost of manufacturers. Fair trade products insure for the ethical treatment and pay for all workers, while maintaining relatively the same price as competitive products. Fair trade is not only the ethical choice but also the ecological choice for consumers Fair Trade products are better for the environment. Fair Trade supports sustainable practices that minimize our environmental footprint.

For these reason I would like you the Canadian people to sign this petition to urge our government to implement policies regarding the sale of products created by unethical practises enforced by large corporation and the special interest of the owners.
