I object to more building so close to kings reach.Surely we are entitled to some breathing space for our own and our children's mental and emotional wellbeing.This green space is priceless and we will never get it back.

I am concerned that the new developments will harm the Green Wheel, an important leisure and environmental benefit to the whole town. Having a new development butting up to the Green Wheel will not make it very "Green".
I also have concerns that the town centre is being left behind, with the biggest issue the abilty to park and use the local shops.
And thirdly, the parking situation at the train station concerns me, as I understand the overflow car park has been sold. With more residents in the area it will undoubtedly increase the number of commuters to London, many of whom will want or need to park near the station.
What plans do Central Beds have to resolve the car park situation in Biggleswade?

The lightening speed of development in and around Biggleswade has shown that our town simply cannot support such an expansion. Our schools, Doctors and road systems are all overloaded with the added population. We have stoodby while our excellent quality agricultural land has been covered in concrete and our wildlife driven out . Many of the people of Biggleswade have chosen to live here because they do not wish to live in a concrete , traffic polluted environment - yet we are having this relentless march of buildings and roads tacked onto the perimeters of our town regardless of the impact of the resident population. Biggleswade has expanded too fast , house prices are ridiculous which prevents any of the local population from benefiting. We will no longer be a market town but a parody of Stevenage or Luton or any of the London fringe towns that the incoming population are so desperate to escape. What is this all down to - the absolute greed of builders ( none of whom live in our town) who are unwilling to spend a bit more and build on brown field sites . It is a disgrace that we will suffer now but our children will pay the price in the future. I vote NO to any further expansion.

The infrastructure just isn't in place to support the large scale expansion that has already happened in Biggleswade. Without putting new infrastructure in place the town will be put under serious pressure if more houses are added. There needs to be improved parking and roads as well as extra medical facilities and schooling put in place before any further development takes place. The area which is now earmarked for development is a valuable asset to the community as it provides an area for walkers and also for wild life. At the rate that housing developments are being agreed in Biggleswade there'll be no leisure areas left and this will ruin the environs of the town. Biggleswade is a small market town and at the present moment I feel that it cannot sustain further growth without loosing the character which brought so many people here in the first place. It's time to say enough and start thinking about what the town needs rather than what will provide the council with the most financial benefit!

Building all these houses next to the allotments is going to spoil the whole ambience of the area which is used for recreation and walking. Not to mention the detriment to the wildlife. Also Biggleswade is getting bigger and bigger without thought to improving the infrastructure like roads and rail. We also need more medical provision in the form of more GPs and more out of hours GP services based in Biggleswade rather than having to travel to Bedford.

Large scale housing development without relevant infrastructure (ie doctors' surgery, ambulance service, etc.) seems mindless to say the least.

Further development in this area will increase the already greatly increased noise from dangerously racing cars going along Saxon drive and Dunton lane at 60 m.p.h. At times pedestrians cannot cross the roads without endangering their lives as traffic is coming and racing from all sides. The area in question to be concreted over is presently used by families and dogwalkers as the only recreational area close to the housing estates in the Saxon Gate area which gready developers now want to take away from them. The animals will also suffer. Rare species butterflies, water voles and grassnakes have been seen in the area. all this will dissapear!

Biggleswade has been selected by Central Bedfordshire Council for growth simply because it's an easy option as they own so much farmland around the town.
Clearly there isn't a balanced approach to housing in Central Beds.
Meaningful consultation with local residents is no more than a tick box exercise.
The Town Council continually express concern over the large scale developments but are ignored. Sad days for democracy!

CBC Local Plan is out of date. If you stall long enough, the UK Gov Policies change and CBC revised Policy would therefore be out of date. Always playing catch up.
