Social care workers have a degree qualification. But the pay and working conditions do not reflect this.

Going to college for 4 years and working in a job where I'm paid the same or less than someone who doesn't even have social care experience or background never mind a basic Fetac course is a disgrace. People who don't even have social care experience should not be allowed care for vulnerable people. It's disgusting and so unfair that these vulnerable people have to receive personal care from people who haven't been educated in the area and their past employments might be in a totally irrelevant sector. They have a right to care with dignity.

If we have level 8 degree then we should be paid accordingly. If some employers follow the hse payscale then all enployers should.
