Fair Pay for Faculty at Colorado State University

The severe underpayment of NTT faculty devalues the work of ALL employees at CSU. It creates division between groups, it cheapens the value of higher education, it places an undue burden on the very instructors who have the most direct contact with students, and it denies dignity.

This is about priorities. Pay your faculty.

CSU is a world class university. That is because of our best in class teachers. I think it is fair to ask that we ensure they receive fair compensation for their long hours, and a competitive wage to keep the best here. We hear a lot about the Land Grant Mission, and for good reason- it's awesome. But the fundamental idea, as I see it, was to ensure the average person could receive an education. And with that education, they could better pursue their desires and passions, and would make for a better citizen as a result. We should ensure all members of our community get just compensation for making what was once a dream, and everyday reality for so many students.

The hard work and dedication of faculty should be compensated. How can the whole be well if such vital parts of it are not cared for?

The people who are employed to lay a foundation for the future must be able to live a life that enables them to do so.

This inequity has been a festering blister for years.

The professors I encountered during my time at CSU were nothing but exceptional. Their pay should reflect that.

Teachers deserve a living wage and is the least we can do for all that they do for us

I was a Spanish adjunct for 8 years and this was a critical issue. Adjuncts teach the majority of the classes at CSU and deserve to be paid a salary that respects their level of education and commitment to the university.

The best professors I have had are the ones not committed to their research, but to their students.

Please pass the fair pay and justice petition you are receiving. It is the most important thing you can do to validate and keep these outstanding instructors.

Pay the teachers!!!

With NTT Faculty teaching more courses and, consequently, more students than many TT faculty, it is imperative that we (NTTF) receive fair and adequate compensation for our labor. Without NTTF, many of the university's required courses (many of which are positively correlated with student retention & persistence) would go unstaffed, which reveals our importance to the university, but which is not compensated accordingly.

I support a living wage for NTTF and all other roles at CSU. Put the values into action.

It is not only the fair thing to do; it is in the interest of CSU that our instructors are able to focus on their jobs and not be figuring out how to supplement their income to make ends meet.

I support fair pay and equity for all educators.
