Father John is a caring compassionate priest. One of the only priests that I have ever met that would be a wonderful Pope.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Fr. John and best wishes this Saturday. Please know we all will continue to pray and support you in every way we can through this sad state of affairs.. You have devoted your life to your parishioners and now it is our time to be there for you, to support you and to fight to get your priesthood back.

Prayers and reinstatement for Father John

God bless Father John Duffy. He breathed new life into Sacred Heart Parish Uxbridge when he was appointed pastor.. His presence created a church of welcoming , joy, friendship and celebration in God's name. A place all felt welcome. May God forgive those few who have spoken against him, Who appointed this handful of individuals to speak for our entire parish?. Have you any idea of the damage you have done to all the members of our parish? As a parishioner of 36 years I am heart broken that this has happened. This is morally wrong! Our parish deserves justice for both Father John and our parish family. Please pray and act for a just resolution to this terrible wrong The Toronto Archdiocese has failed Father John and our parish community. Gerry Morrison

My heart breaks to read this news about Fr John Duffy. I have known him since I was a child. He is by far the best priest I have ever met. I have followed him to different parishes and know just how wonderful a man he is. He was the only priest I wanted to marry me and my husband and baptize our first child. He has made a huge impact on my life and for that I am grateful. I am praying for you Fr. John and hope you keep the faith and stay positive. Something has got to be done about this, how can you send this man to the streets after his many years of service to the church is disgusting.

We miss Father John Duffy at Sacred Heart, and cannot wait for his return. He has done many many wonderful things, and we pray for him for an early return. God bless Father John Duffy.

Today I read the Popes message In his call for the Church to take a lead on the migration issue, Francis urged local communities of believers to make a "concrete gesture" ahead of a Jubilee Year of Mercy starting in December 2015. He said "every parish, every religious community, every monastery, every sanctuary in Europe," should take part. "Faced with the tragedy of tens of thousands of asylum-seekers fleeing death (as) victims of war and hunger who are hoping to start a new life, the gospel calls on us and asks us to be the neighbour of the smallest and the most abandoned, to give them concrete hope," he said in a Sunday address in St Peter's square. I think of Father John every day and I pray for him deeply because I am hurt in my heart that someone so good should go through this . God WILL work all of this out . I KNOW IT . We have to help Fr John Duffy now . It is God who is knocking on our hearts and giving us the opportunity to love our good brother in need . " When I was thirsty you gave me to drink , when I was hungry you gave me to eat " Lord when did we see you thirsty and hungry ? " In so much as you did it to the least of these my brothers you did it to Me ." I believe with all of my heart that God is preparing Fr John Duffy for a great work in the church . He has set him apart for the moment only to let him return stronger than ever to serve ! This is how God works with his saints . Fr John Duffy is one of them . We love you Father , we bless you !

I am fully aware that Fr. John is trying to maintain his dignity, good name and independence by trying to find jobs to support himself. It is difficult for a man at 55 years to do so which has resulted in a few odd jobs here and there. The minute few at Sacred Heart have much to answer for with causing all this grief and suffering. I am finding it very, very difficult to be in a forgiving mode with them but hopefully one day. With the ongoing support of the good and decent faithful and even those of other religions (see the comments) Fr. John will overcome what has been hurtled at him and will continue in his ministry to help lead us to heaven. The only thing I see coming out from the Archdiocese are numerous requests for cash even though from what I have ascertained, their coffers overflow. Heaven help us all....Tim Flynn

Cardinal Collins stated that we should be ashamed of ourselves for our poor response to the current refugee crisis but he should take responsibility for the current crisis within our Catholic Church and our Catholic Schools in Ontario. Father John Duffy doesn't deserve to be treated unfairly by Archdiocesse

Perhaps the Cardinal should have a look at Father Duffy not as a pain in the side that "needs to be dealt with", but rather an inspiration. There are so many great things being said about Father Duffy that it is very very clear that he has been (no - still is an inspiration to those he met). After reading many of the comments, I find I am not the only person to notice many parallels of this crisis, to many scriptures. In a word - we are seeing the true colours of both parties. Very good news that "... TORONTO – The Archbishop of Toronto, Cardinal Thomas Collins, has announced the launch of a refugee resettlement campaign to help bring families of war, violence and persecution to Canada. .." For those of you that have attended Sacred Heart in Uxbridge about 5 years ago, Fr John initiated a campaign to sponsor a refugee family from the same war-torn area. I have been a parishioner at Sacred Heart Uxbridge for about 25 years, and I have attended mass at many different churches in many countries, and I have to say that our church would rank among the highest in need of TCL. Fr. John work incredibly hard and diligently ensuring much needed improvements to the church property were executed. The challenges were continual, but successfully met. When World Youth Days - Spain occurred under Fr. John's guidance our parish had the highest participants within the GTA. Fr. John continually initiated a "silent" protest chain to support pro-life. Fr. John has "character of conscience" that supersedes any political pressures. Not that any of us would ever consider Fr. John as a "Lost" as does the arch-diocese, but: they might want to re-read the 3 parables of "Prodigal Son", "Lost Sheep", and "Lost Coin", to realize the "treasure" that they are aborting from their clergy.

I have known Father John Duffy for more than 20 years. And it breaks my heart to hear how he is being treated.Father Duffy is a wonderful priest and spiritual leader.

I've known Father John since he was deacon John at St. Thomas More church. He spent many hours with us as young men and women learning how Christ was relevant in our lives, and how we could be good Christians. he also led by example and was a role model to me, and my peers.

My wife and I were deeply saddened and shocked to hear what has happened to our beloved priest, Father John. Father John, presided at our Wedding over eleven years ago at St. Thomas Moore Parish. I have always found him to be a most admirable and inspirational example of Gospel charity. We will continue to support and pray for Father John and for a peaceful resolution. Both my parents have expressed how saddened and upsetting this matter has been for them and they too wish father John to know he has their support and prayers aswell.
