PETITION IN SUPPORT OF FR. JOHN M. DUFFY

One thing I have learned over the years is the person who upsets the "dysfunctional" apple cart is looked upon as a delinquent who should be dealt with. I can say with full conviction that all the positive characteristics discussed about Fr. John is truly who he is. Fr. John WILL NOT back down from an injustice. He is a very kind and gentle person, he is one of the most faithful clergy I have ever met. I know many other priests as well, and one complaint they have is the archdiocese is notorious for bullying its clergy - this incident is being closely watch by all - which seems to be the case at hand - at least in the eyes of the archdiocese. Like Fr. John, all the parish pastors are being forced to participate in the "Family of Faith" campaign. Uxbridge like so many other parishes within the archdiocese simply are not able to participate - its a struggle enough to meet day-to-day obligations. Canonical law dictates mandatory obedience for the clergy which puts them in a position where they cannot refuse - they can discuss their concerns only to fall on deaf ears. In my opinion - when Fr. John brought the matter regarding his defamed character to the archdiocese they took this opportunity. Like the rest of us, they realize Fr. John's fortitude to fight an injustice - realizing that they would have to deal with a "precedence" of Pastor's inability to participate in a "Family of Faith" campaign - opening the doors to many other parishes, and many other campaigns. So the spin-doctors set the stage, and put the "redirect" in motion, and now we have one of the best priests we have every had the pleasure of serving our congregation, of being "suspended"- without any apparent reason - well maybe dis-obedience. Well it's a 2-way street, under canonical law the bishop/cardinal is supposed to look after his sheep - not throw them to the street. God Bless Fr. John, your support is much stronger and larger then it appears.

Mr. O'Connor, it is interesting how when someone tells an untruth about a wonderful humanitarian and priest like Father John Duffy, they always make it look like they are concerned about his "personal health and well-being." Mr. O'Connor, always remember the power of false information, which is clearly the case here." Mr. O'Connor, you say that "The Cardinal isn't going to reveal the details because it isn't for us to know." The Cardinal doesn't WANT us to know because the Archdiocese did not stand up for their devoted and beloved priest. However, Father John's followers will continue to support and fight for Father John Duffy. Mr.. O'Connor, you also say that "Going away quietly is what a man of the clothe would do." Would YOU go quietly if YOU were accused of false and disgraceful accusations?! I think not! Going away quietly would only say one is guilty. Father John, is the victim of false accusations. Father John, we will continue to support you every step of the way!

What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Father Duffy should have full support of his 'employer' until proven he is in the wrong. Shameful treatment of the man.

He's an extraordinary priest. Let's keep him in our prayers.

I believe that as a practicing Catholic, I have a right and a moral obligation to speak out in support of Father Duffy. I have made my objections known to Cardinal Collins but have not received the courtesy of a reply. This must be because so much of the Cardinal's time is spent on fundraising, Meanwhle, the Church cries out for vocations and a New Evangelism!!!

The needs of the so-called "Family of Faith" unfortunately, have been rendered very secondary to the needs of an abandoned pastor. The Church should be Christ on earth - at least Christ-like. Guess the wrong people are running the show!

Fr. John Duffy did excellent work for his parish. helped young and old and guided us. He has got support groups like SSVP, KOC started in this comunity to help the poor and unfortunate

Perhaps we should take the advice of the senior ecclesiastic, "The squeaky wheel gets the oil." Let's make some noise !! Bring Father John home ! Bring Father John home ! Bring Father John home !

Fr. John Duffy was an excellent priest. He was a hard worker and everybody liked him.

We need good priests like Father Duffy.We aren't ordaining many priests and should respect the good ones that we have May God be with you and give you the help you need .

I have not met you, Fr. John Duffy but I cover you with my daily prayers. I offer all your crosses and everything you are undergoing to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mart and for her own disposal accordingly for Graces you need in your situation. I ask for all the love, mercy and compassion of the Triune GOD for you to overcome the evil that has come to you. GOD bless.

Protest in front of the Archdiocese. Bring home Father John!!

Father John Duffy. Who is he? I'll tell you....a great humanitarian...who came from the most humble of beginnings to rise to his calling of spreading the word of Christ . All while also lifting up those in the darkest and most dire of circumstances. As a young priest worked side by side with the most Holy of people Mother Teresa. Unwavering in his determination to help the poor, the dissedent and those fleeing persecution in other places in this world that many of us could not bear to witness. He is building bridges. Fostering unity and peace and forgiveness within all religions. While upholding the pillars of what Christianity has been built upon. He is the one that held our hands as our loved ones slipped away, listened to our cries of sorrow. And witnessed our joys ...blessing us in holy matrimony and baptizing our children all the while reminding us God is Great don't ever stop believing. I Believe in truth, love and humanity because Father John has never steered me wrong. To the archdiocese ... I am saddened for this world as they will not know a more dedicated and humble priest. Your loving son cast out. Farher John Mathew Duffy. My priest, my friend. Keep fighting the darkness...the light of His love shall shine through the cracks .

How come that for us humans it is so difficult to admit when something goes wrong? We try to teach our children,and so does the church in particular,to be honest,respect eachother and admit of any wrong doing..Let us put our ego aside for a moment and admit openly our mistakes .Thats what I call cofession. By admitting,one can only gain Respect and Trust.Therefor also restore Peace in our Parish,and thats what we expect fromthe Archdiocese of Toronto. May the love of God be with us always. WE have a lot of respect and trust for Fr.John Duffy.He officiated our daughters wedding @ St. Thomas More in Scarborough 10 years ago.It is with great sadness that he has to endure this kind of treatment from his superiors who are suppose to give him financial and spiritual support. Let's join together and pray for him.

Fr. John was our pastor at St. Thomas More in Scarborough, Ontario and he has helped and made it possible for my disabled son to serve as an altarr server to make my son's wish to be realized. He is a friend and has been since we left Canada. We are now residing in Arizona, USA. I am some so distraught to hear this very disturbing news. He is a very dedicated servant of God.
