I do support this it's a disgrace that the vale suffers in this way and a labour AM has done nothing to help sort out a fair settlement for us

Perhaps someone should advise the Assembly that El Dorado, in the shape of the St Athan development, has not yet materialised!

Extensive unjustifiable road works are being undertaken in the centre of Bridgend. This massive misuse of resources whilst the Vale is overcharged and underfunded is obscene. Obviously Bridgend's budget is much too generous.

It's about time that funding for the Vale was in line with funding for other authority funding. No wonder schools in the Vale are in such a poor state.

Why is the Vale of Glamorgan not receiving the support other boroughs do, is this because it is perceived as being a 'rich' area.

This shortfall of funding particularly affects the Voluntary Sector. The Council has withdrawn 100% sector of Funding to Valeways a local charity which is putting their Health Promotionhas Walking programme, , Walking Tourism and organising the Annual Walking Festival and Public Footpath Maintenance which is a Statutory duty of the Vale Council

Comment seems superfluous. It must be obvious to everyone that this situation is ludicrous and wholly unfair.

Fair funding for the Vale residents, our needs are just as great as Cardiff or Bridgend.

Surely we should fight for fair funding so that our young people are not penalised for the parental choice of living location. Many people from the Vale are already contributing to the wealth of Cardiff and Bridgend by working in these areas and having to seek entertainment there also.

This is a much needed petition - we only hope that in some way it isn't used as an excuse to absorb The Vale Council into Cardiff to create a new authority. We would still be underfunded in that region as well!
