For a substantial number of years, the Internet business, in Dahlonega, has been monopolized by Windstream. That WILL come to an end!
No more Unreliable Internet that will cut out for days and still have to pay the regular monthly payment. No more upcharging customers $100 a month for crappy 15mps Internet. No more having to wait weeks, and even in some cases a month, for repair work or technicians to visit.
We the people, people of Dahlonega, are sick and tired of the political Internet and cable games our chamber and mayor are playing. We want Google Fiber, or something comparable to give us fair and reliable internet and tv.

I never thought we would actually see this much traction when I started typing out my frustrations about the constant dropouts late one night. It feels like everyone in town is finally fed up with the monopoly and seeing that resonance is honestly wild because it proves we are not just shouting into the void anymore.

I have been a customer for 9 years only cause no other option. my service is cut off monthly due to high costs and I am charged a reconnect fee even if its the day after. I only use wifi services not even a landline and still paying close to 200$ per month. PLEASE someone do something. They are a monopoly and need to be stopped. Helen, GA!
It's not fair to have to pay almost $200 a month when 10 miles on the other side of 400 they can get away with 50 bucks through AT&T
My average speed is 6mps when working. How can Windstream charge the same rate that fiber is just south of us, it is robbery.
Over the years I have kicked windstream out of my house (their "service") twice due to continual up charges, total lack of customer service when calling to question the up charges, and the complete attitude of (and I quote) "what other choice do you have". Competition would improve everything.
Most unreliable service I've ever had. I pay for it think 12 mbps, but only get it think 5 or 6. My daughter can't watch Netflix on her TV at the other end of the house because the jokes for bandwidth won't reach....
The so called high speed internet is such a joke and the fact that they're the only ones with regular WiFi is not getting it anymore!

Definitely my child is on hospital homebound we need affordable reliable internet here in Murrayville
