We, the participating faculty and staff of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, petition the members of the administrative body and/or the department responsible for, to permit and support the establishment of the student-driven course titled “Sustainable Thinking”, here at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst for the Spring semester of 2011.

        I support the establishment of the course titled “Sustainable Thinking” as it exposes valuable information and discussion about our planet, society and existence as species; past, present, but mainly future. I recognize that we are at the threshold of a worldwide shift in environmental and spiritual perception that will lead towards a more holistic and sustainable world; hence I recognize and the absolute necessity to provide a structured platform for information and dialogue in an academic setting such as the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
