The CCSF faculty signatures on this petition request that any entities in receipt of the AFT2121 Resolution on Gaza consider it null and void. This resolution was passed by a group of less than twenty faculty in a rushed vote without proper procedure. It was not made public in advance on an agenda. There was nothing in writing at the time of the vote, but rather it was read aloud to the small group in attendance. None of the 1400 faculty at City College of San Francisco had any knowledge of its existence before the meeting, and at the time of the close of this petition, no one has been properly notified about the resolution by the AFT2121 leadership.

I disagree with the resolution and I object to the closed rushed process. The path to a fair resolution of the Israeli Palestinian conflict is not by painting one side as all wrong and the other as all right. Passing a resolution which creates antagonism and division is not the path to unity and loyalty in the union. Don't expect it when you do this.

If AFT 2121 truly represents all its members, it must respect the process of representing those members. Passing a resolution with little or no sunshine to the entire membership is like our Union is only owned by a special faction. They make all the decisions with the assumption that rest of us must be the silent agreeing majority.

I am signing this in protest at the way this vote was taken. I did not have a voting representative at the meeting and, even if I did, we didn't have a chance to discuss this beforehand. There should have been more time allowed before the vote. Also, such a small group of voting members should not be allowed to represent all of the faculty of CCSF.

My signature here has nothing to do with my political beliefs but does signify my extreme disappointment with how the AFT 2121 slipped this resolution through without notifying or seeking support from the CCSF faculty. There are plenty of issues at CCSF to be digging into and that is where the time and energy (and $ !!!) should be prioritized.

Regardless of what my personal political beliefs are or my global outlook, my union should not be speaking in my name without my informed consent. This resolution was a back room deal that flies in the face of the "collective" core of labor unions. AFT 2121 has enough work-related issues to address without its reach extending around the world.

I am a strong supporter of Gaza and the Palestinian cause but this action was taken without proper procedure and consent. This is improper and devoid of process.

I do not feel that leadership should presume positions of faculty on issues that lie outside our campus.

I don't see this issue as one that is within the purview of AFT 2121. I also object to the fact that members were not consulted before the resolution passed.
