I support this petition but I already chose Option A on the survey bc I also don’t want the school to limit family participation and Renault activities. So I don’t know what to do.

UPDATE: IF YOU SUPPORT THIS PETITION PLEASE CHOOSE OPTION B ON THE SURVEY.
OTHER RULES MENTIONED IN THE SURVEY (PARENTS ON CAMPUS, PLAYS INSIDE OR OUTSIDE ETC.) MAY HOPEFULLY BE ADJUSTED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR BASED ON CONDITIONS AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT.

Good ideas of possible solutions being shared withe AC would be most welcome I am sure. unfortunately this survey has no possible positive impact other than increasing divisiveness in the community.

I signed this as it is the only way to leave a comment. Every single person signing this petition should reflect very deeply on that decision, as I think it is deeply hurtful to the school community. This has NOTHING to do with my personal feeling on what the best policy for the School is . It has everything to do with the approach of divisiveness this survey represents. This is an extremely difficult and contentious issue that the school board, administration, and faculty has worked very hard to address in good faith and navigate a very challenging situation for our community and the world. That has included the formation of an advisory group (which I was on) to include parents, board, and faculty to try and work to find solutions. faculty and staff have done incredible work in incredibly difficult circumstances for the last 18 months. AC has sent an email out the school community outlining in a very fair and balanced way many of the complex issues they are facing, and acknowledging that perhaps the most contentious is the question of INDOOR mask wearing. Express your opinion there. Engage CONSTRUCTIVELY to BUILD COMMUNITY not to tear it down. Put in the work to understand the depth of the work and the thoughtfulness that has been put into this by teh school. Setting up a confrontational and one sided survey has no useful purpose, it is divisive, disrespectful, and beneath the values this community purports to stand for.

If you do not like any of the choices that the school provided on their survey, please feel free to let the school know. The best bet is to choose Option B (masks optional) but deliver the message that you are not happy with how the options are presented.

Of course wearing a mask is not ideal, but my concern still remains: I'm pretty certain that our vaccination rate at Waldorf is well below the 70% needed in order to reach herd immunity. So masks do protect those vulnerable. I was hesitant to sign because I think we’re putting ourselves in a position where we’ll have an increase of positive cases - which will then close school. I think masks should be optional IF parents and siblings can demonstrate vaccination! Please trust science.

It IS science that masks are more detrimental to children than helpful! As grandparents of children in the Waldorf school And in keeping with your established culture of nurture, we pray you will set the children free to be kids and not experiments! Thanks for your care for our grandkids!

There's no science that proves that masks are beneficial. There are studies that show that they are detrimental to physical and emotional health.

I fully support masks as being optional and feel that freedom of CHOICE is an excellent compromise.

I would like my child to go to school without a mask next year. And to see his classmates and peers without a mask as well. I also would like parents to continue to be careful to only send healthy children to school.
