As a clean furry who uses FA with filter and AdBlock disabled on this site (because the local ads are interesting), I am appalled that they would put porn in an environment that I've made to keep mature art OUT! I do NOT like porn and would appreciate it if the staff cancelled this and keep ads CLEAN!! Allowing porn adverts is basically saying that FA is a porn site! Well done to help those who try to defend FA!

The adult advertisements that FurAffinity (undoubtedly caused by IMVU's Marketing scheme) have permitted onto their website is shameless and absolutely disgusting.
What is more abhorrent is the fact that these adverts have and continue to show up on Safe for Work filtered accounts, meaning that children and underage users of the site who are abiding by the rules and keeping their filters on are exposed to content they would get banned for seeing were it their own actions to fault.
Not only is this likely illegal from an advertising perspective given the depictions that it portrays to said under-aged individuals, but it completely tarnishes the reputation of a once -reasonably- trustworthy and respectable website, and the individuals that browse upon the site and monetize from it's existence thereof.
What I was once proud to call a favorite website of mine is now a shameful stain upon my browser and bookmarks, and, were most of the artists I hold dear available on other galleries such as Weasyl or Inkbunny, I would surely have left the moment IMVU started placing advertisements outside of user-generated banner ads.
If you're reading this, Dragoneer, here's a snippet for you:
These advertisements are completely exploitative and shameless. The marketing advisers that have advised you put these on your websites are not only exposing children to depictions of REAL pornography, but are also literally waving a means of easily accessing real pornographic content right in front of their faces. If I were you, I would be wholly ashamed of the current state of FurAffinity, foresaking the fact that I wouldn't have even allowed these advertisements past the site's board of administrators.

I am disgusted enough considering I use and watch a lot of non pornographic stuff when looking for cute artwork for my little one. silverfox is a prime example of a fantastic non porn artist which I can use the artwork on screen to flick through for the baby. However I've boycotted the site, and am in no way posting further artwork there.

It is unfortunate that FA has a history of arbitrarily removing content for non-consistent reasons due to the nature or perceived nature of the artwork. With the move to allow off-site pornographic ads to be freely displayed on a site that is not only inconsistent with the nature of the website, at odds with their own application of administrative actions with their members, and in violation of their own website policies, I add my voice to those who want real-world pornographic ads removed.

Adult material, while not unfamiliar to the fandom is something that should be kept in reserve. Open advertising of adult material hurts perception and creates a barrier for entry to new and often timid furs who are looking for a community to call their own. If anyone wishes to seek out pornography, that is their prerogative and can be done at their discretion. But to have it forced upon you through ads is heinous and leads to the question, "Truly, why are we here?"

I am aware of this and lately I'm not happy with such decision. Keep the freedom of choice to users as that is what keeps the site up.
