Extension of Residents Parking Zone N, Hackney E5

Fletching road is already being used for free parking by people commuting into London. Every day our road is now full - once the restrictions happen on the surrounding roads, it will be impassible to park at all near our own homes.

I feel we are being cornered into accepting the CP zone extension and I do not see where the money the council raises through it is invested. Having said this it has become very difficult to park on our street (Chailey Street) and it will become impossible once the current proposal is enforced. If our street and others adjacent don't get included it will result in the residents not being able to park, especially if they come home late after a long work day.

Cotesbach Road is now very much harder to park in than it used to be. I voted Yes first time around and feel even more strongly about it now

We anticipate that parking in Chailey St will become (even) more difficult as a result of the current proposal and therefore see no option but to request that the council include Chailey St within the zone N.

I was originally against parking restrictions in the area, as I thought it was another way to raise revenue for the council; impacts small business; effects guest/visitors; and the ongoing costs of having to pay for permits. However, the impact that this will now have on Cotesbach and Wattisfield Road will be considerably harsh for the residents which live on the streets outside Zone N. We already face parking problems every Friday, and to have a continued increase in parking everyday is not sustainable for the residents on these road and for the environment. I am urging Hackney Council to include Cotesbach, Wattisfield Cornthwaite and other roads not Zone N in order to safeguard the environment and consider the impact on residents.

I was alarmed to find out that the council proposes to take forward the extension of zone N in some but not all streets, leaving those uncontrolled smaller areas left to cope with future parking displacement. In the stage 1 consultation I strongly supported the council’s proposal to an extension, as parking has become a real issue for residents. It has been notable over the last couple of years how more cars are being parked here as a result of: - Clapton station being now run as part of the Overground system, making it more attractive and more people from further afield using the area as free park and ride; - the accumulative effects of smaller scale residential development under permitted development rights and the conversion from houses into flats, and more people living in the area; - commercial vehicles (‘while vans’) being effectively dumped here when not in use. In addition there are residential developments on Lea Bridge Road (under construction) and Chatsworth Road/Leagrave Street (in planning) that although promoted as car free, are likely to increase parking to our streets should they remain uncontrolled. I therefore urge the the council to reconsider the proposal to take forward the zone N extension to Wattisfield Road and Cotesbach Road.

We rely on our car everyday for our family. It is already very hard to park near our house on Wattisfield road. What is more Wattisfield road is used by lots of trade vehicles who leave their vehicles their for long periods. Creating the new parking zone as planned will create real parking issues for everybody outside it. Please extend the zone to include all surrounding roads including Wattisfield and Cotesbach.

Having considered the alternative and weighed up the options, I now support the move to petition the Council to add Cotesbach Road E5 to Zone N. Yes, we will have to pay for a resident's permit but that's better than risking not being able to park in our own street again. It's bad enough now and will only get worse if we stay an un-controlled road.

Being able to park my one small car is very important for me as I have to transport equipment for work. If this division of roads within the zone goes ahead I will not be able to work.

It is with a heavy heart that we now support residence parking in Chailey St. However we see no other option if all other surrounding streets opt in as they have. We have trouble parking in front of our house as it is.

This will make our streets the only non CPZ parking around, already we are full of people getting the bus or the overground into town....this will make it so much worse.

As a Mildenhall resident located below Cornthwaite Road, I request all the area in initial consultation be including in CPZ. Splitting streets will not alleviate the parking pressure rather increase it.

If some roads are permits and some not that's an unacceptable situation as we will no longer be able to work outside our house.
