Dear Pelham, We, the student body of MUWCI, are asking you to postpone the time of reporting use of illegal substances from 2 days to 2 weeks. This decision would help us build the trust in this community, give us time to make our own decisions and avoid getting expelled because of use of illegal substances during summer and before coming to MUWCI. This would also provide us with a feeling there is some space for dialogue in this school. As we discussed the issue of transparency before, we feel like it should be necessary to give us some time before accepting the new rules and all the consequences they take with them. We, those who signed this petition, do not question the Maharashtran law nor Code of Conduct - we are asking you to give us time to make sure this year can be started without use of illegal substances. This decision is also economically more efficient from administration's point of view, since amount of people to get tested is likely to decrease within 2 next weeks. Whoever needs the conselling of Zia, they can still approach her within' those two weeks. We think the purpose of this decision - making us understand that this year school has NO TOLERANCE for illegal substances - has been achieved. We tolerate it and do not oppose it.
