Camberwell needs the tube. Busses take about as long to get to central London as our Georgian ancestors did when they first settled here. Denmark Hill rail station is already heaving with passengers going to and from the hospitals. We need the tube!!

In comparison to Old Kent Road, Camberwell requires the extension more. Roads around Camberwell are so congested during peak hours (sometimes off peak as well).

A tube in camberwell would revolutionise the whole area. It is a crying shame that we are not better connected already, as transport links are far from what they should be in this part of London. Bring the tube to camberwell!

People who live in North, West and East London cannot believe that we do not have a tube service in the Camberwell and/or Peckham area. Especially as we have one of London's major hospitals. It would make a HUGE difference to local residents and would certainly go a long, long way to ease congestion on the buses and rail systems. We really need to enter the 21st century regarding public transport in this area.

Hi am a campaigner of the "Tube For All". We launched our campaign in January 2006. It was backed by the South London Press- we met in the place for a rally on Camberwell Green. Don't give up the fight. We presented over 1,000 letters and a petition to the Southwark Council, to the then Mayor Of London Ken Livingstone, Transport for London to include Camberwell as a priority area for the bakerloo extension & train station - at the time the then Council Adminstration was more concerned with the Camberwell Tram and not the tube which Boris shelved in November 2008. After a political fight all three leaders of the then three political parties supported our Motion for Camberwell to became the priority area for a Underground Tube Station. It is Southwark Council tranport Policy. That is why I cannot understand why there is a sudden interest in the Old Road. This was never an option ?

DREAMS of a new Tube station could be realised within 20 years.
London Mayor Ken Livingstone has written to campaigners saying proposals to extend the Bakerloo Line to Camberwell are being considered.
Plans to continue tunnelling from Elephant & Castle - the current terminus - down to Camberwell Green were originally drawn up in the 1920s before the Second World War and the and the Depression put paid to the project.
Campaigners resurrected the scheme last month, but Transport for London (TfL) said transport contracts were tied up until at least 2012.
That put paid to hopes of a Tube station being built before the Olympics comes to London, and last week Southwark council leader Nick Stanton said it could be 50 years before the dream was realised.
But Mr Livingstone's statement will give heart to those desperate for a new transport link in South-east London.
In an email seen by the South London Press, Mr Livingstone said TfL and London Underg
