We the undersigned residents of Westport Massachusetts respectfully request that the decision regarding the hiring of a new Superintendent for the Westport Community Schools be delayed until AFTER town elections in April of 2018. Most importantly we ask for this to be an open and transparent process. We ask that the community be engaged and welcomed into the process. Communication is critical.

We ask that the incoming School Committee members, who will be elected in April and will serve with the incoming superintendent, be given the opportunity to be a part of the decision process, as this will affect the future of the Westport Community Schools. In addition, we feel strongly that this process should not be rushed to ensure that adequate time is spent on the search and procurement of a qualified candidate to serve our community.
