This initiative has my full support....If we are serious about advancing the Barbadian society we must conduct significant and meaningful social reengineering...This will help us to rewrite historical remnants such as he value of women,mothers, fathers, men, so on and so forth.

I recently had a little boy. .and due to late pregnancy complications had to take my maternity six weeks before I was due ... then back out to work at six weeks.. This is not enough time to heal properly physically and mentally. Also for breast feeding exclusively if you don't own or cannot purchase a pump.. or have pumping issues how are we as mothers expected to feed our children without having to dig into our pockets to buy formula which is expensive as it is!

It gives the mother more time to heal and a better bound with her child and a longer time for breastfeeding which gives the child proper nutrients it is also very hard at the age of 3 months in most cases to find a day care for the child

I believe in breastfeeding up to 6 months or as long as the baby needs it. It brings a lot of bounding and it makes you save money in the following ways: less doctor's visits, no formula to be brought so often. I also believe it is up to the individual to make the choice that is best for the baby. Also all nurseries should be made to accept breastmilk to feed the baby when it comes.

I support this because I believe in breastfeeding exclusively for the first 6 months. On return to work it is difficult to pump at work constantly and perform duties and because of this the milk supply starts to decrease.
