It's inconvenient to the shopper to have such restrictions in the street and car parks, thus affecting local business! Another 3 traders/shops closed from what I can see!

One hour too short, two hours too long, 1 hour 30 = perfect. Gives time to load/unload car and get kids in and out

Working in the Veg Box Shop I constantly see parents especially with small children in car seats and with prams struggling with the one hour time limit on parking. It can take 10mins for a parent to get the pram stroke car seat out and then another 10 to get back in..barclays has now closed and santander...meaning the queues at the other banks and the post office are longer.. leaving no time for browsing the local shops...also the borough traffic warden is lurking around every corner....New Mills trade is dying because of this and growing supermarkets in the are...sort this out or there wont be any shops left

2 free hours in the car parks but don't clog up the streets - keep them to an hour.

New Mills has some lovely shops well worth visiting but the 1 hour free parking limit is off putting and makes you cut your visit short. A shame when wanting to shop local!

I am a new mills resident and like to park when using the hair dressing salons - my appointments usually run over an hour so 2 hour parking would give me time to visit local shops too

I have signed this petition as I would like to see a dialogue open between all parties to discuss how best to manage the parking situation in the town. I appreciate there probably does need to be a tarif for extended parking but the current regulations don't allow enough time to enjoy the town and its shops, cafes other businesses. The current system is prohibitive to local shopping and I fear the town centre will decline. I would therefore welcome a discussion between the council, traders, residents and visitors so we as a community can work toward a solution and help create a thriving town centre.

One hour frees is definately not enough to even visit the doctors and the chemist and get back in the hour. Especially if chemist is busy.

The town has died. What are the council doing about it?

Parking should be more relaxed in New Mills. Stringent parking policy in New Mills is a blatant money making scheme for the council but reduces trade to the town as this is off putting for many people.

The constant over the top victimisation of our customers is damaging business. Many people have said they now go to the supermarkets
