With the accelerating threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, it should be in the best interest of the Deer Valley Unified School District to reasonably suspend classes for at least one week following spring break. During spring break, many students are expected to travel throughout various areas in which coronavirus poses a threat. It would be extremely careless for DVUSD to make in-person attendance mandatory following the week of spring break. Many students across DVUSD campuses feel that the administration should respond to this threat accordingly and encourages them to take the necessary precautions in order to protect the well being of it’s students, faculty, and surrounding communities.

Update: In the latest update given on DVUSD’s website, it is obvious that the school district doesn't care about protecting it’s community, as the administration plans to keep schools open following spring break. Why is DVUSD not taking the necessary precautions to protect it’s students? Why is DVUSD waiting until it’s too late to do something?
