We the Parents, and Students within the Vermont State School Districts are no longer able to find acceptable means for dealing with the Horrendous amounts of bullying, harassment and psychological abuses of our students in the State School Districts within the borders of Vermont. Here in Rutland, we suffer the denial of restrooms, water, visits to the nurse along with name calling psychological and verbal abuses. Our complaints are regularly downplayed or swept under administrative rugs with indifference. On many Occasions We parents are bullied directly by the staff as well as our students. Bullying MUST be brought to an end at these schools on all levels, Anti-harrassment and anti-bullying policies MUST be adopted and uphelp according to Bill H.771, and Bill H. 412. These requirements have failed to be met on all levels throughout the chain of staff from the school board all the way down to the teachers. Our students and children are coming home with less desire to attend public state schools, or even participate in any learning experience they now offer. Each encounter we bring to the attentions of the school board, Principal and teachers is denied as being significant while each encounter brings our children and ourselves ever closer to this petition you now hold. Please help us to encourage our schools to be responsible once again for the safety and emotional wellbeing of our students! Let's stand up together and demand NOT a change of policies, but a restoration of Moral leadership within our Educational System and hold them responsible to their Jobs, and Titles.
