Within the gaming community we have a serious lack of a true asym esports game since the death of Evolve, however we have a solid engine within Dying Light's BTZ mode that I believe could easily be expanded to support esports which would help drive additional sales for Techland but also and more importantly, it would give a new home to the Evolve Pro Players Community that are actively trying to find a true home.

Within my proposal I do want to open a small studio over here for a project to develop a 'pvp island' for Dying Light that would be accessible in game similar to the boat that is used for Prison Heist missions, it would allow an intermediary area to remove all in game items(putting everyone on a level playing field) it would have an internal store that would have pvp currency specifically based on resources collected on the island. We would add a bounty system of who is the current notorious players and recent successful hunts against other bounties.

We can create in game events using the alarm/picklock/pry panel features of the game to increase tension for in game matches while still keeping it easy to balance by not massively changing mechanics of the game. One example would be an armory that holds powerful equipment that would help clear nests, maybe a C4 charge that was remotely triggered as an example, it would have a main entrance that is accessible only via picklock once the picking has started an alarm would sound attracting a number of zombies from nearby. After about 15 seconds if they have not broken through a louder alarm will sound alerting the Night Hunter to the current location as well as spawning goons/demolishers. The trade off would be once they are in inside they can shut the door, defend that entry point enough to take a breather. If an alternate route is needed out we could create an underground tunnel.

I firmly believe everything that I want to do within Dying Light can easily be done within the developer tools with enough time/resources, what I intend to ask of Techland is this:

Permission - I am probably going to need a kickstarter/funding I will have to advertise on that mark, I will be pointing this from a private concern but I do need to ensure that I'm not stepping on toes.

Access - Once we start going with this we will need access that has been removed from dev tools in the past, a Night Hunter slot at least accessible internally for us without having to build it into the system would shorten the time needed in order to get up to speed.

Cooperation - Once we reach a point that we can introduce these maps into the game, we will need Techland's help to create an access point for the island as well as if the dev tools has a size limit possibly creating zoning spots for each map.

Commitment - While I would love to permanently stay developing the pvp island for Dying Light my first commitment is to my community and the esports side of things, I want to ensure that as long as Dying Light has an esports scene that is active and generating revenue Techland will continue to if not improve at least maintain what we create.

Dying Light is an incredible game, it's a very frantic and immersive experience in which your positioning is always important, situational awareness in this game usually means the difference between a death and a nest down from that idea though.. I don't think it was explored enough within the engine given to us. The mini events were interesting but I believe we can add many more without needing to drastically change anything.

One side note is about the hacking/modding side of the community, we can limit a lot of this by ensuring people have to access the intermediary each time they go into pvp, however setting up an external option may eventually be needed if this becomes a serious endeavor for Techland.

Potential futures:

Dying light: We Are Runners
Community projects instead of ending with pvp island, potential base for Techland to allow community projects that they quality test and add to game as content drops, reducing costs of Techland while increasing the value of a product that has no future planed content. Particularly large amounts of content could be dlc related however the pvp content would be requested as f2p due to esports being far reaching. Collectively any projects through the Dev Tools system would be know as We Are Runners Studios though any project can be done through this title and it holds no monetary control over invidual groups or their intellectual property within said studio it acts merely as a single cohesive conduit to drive content for the game. Quality assurance could still be within Techland's hand to review projects/products as needed but could be added as expansive scenarios within the Dying Light 1 world.
