16-year-old Kiera Wilmot performed an unauthorized science experiment on school grounds by combining two household chemicals in a small water bottle. It exploded ever so mildly (top popped and some smoke). No one was hurt. No property was damaged. It reportedly sounded like a firecracker. Kiera is described by the principal as "a good kid. She has never been in trouble before. Ever." She was completely honest about what she did. Nonetheless she was taken by authorities to a juvenile detention center, may be labeled a felon for and is being expelled from school. Stop this injustice.
