Last month I wrote to the Ontario government with regard to their introduction of a new Ontario pension plan and I was invited to attend one of their open forums to make a three minute presentation, which I did last week. As you may be aware, the government's consultation paper on the ORPP suggests that they aren't planning to consider defined contribution plans as 'comparable plans' for purposes of exemption from the new government run program. Defined benefit and target benefit plans are the only two types of plans to be considered comparable.
