Exceptional kids should wear exceptional kicks!
My 10-year-old daughter and I often visit shoe stores and leave disappointed because there are never any shoes available for her! She is conquering cerebral palsy and has to wear AFOs(ankle-foot orthosis), which makes it extremely difficult and nearly impossible for us to just walk into a store and purchase shoes. Often times there is tons of wear and tear to her shoes and they need to be replaced often. On so many occasions she has to watch her sisters and brother shop for shoes while she seats on the sideline in a store filled with hundreds of shoes but none that are made for her! This is unfair, unacceptable, and my daughter(and kids like to deserve better). This petition is calling for national stores such as Skechers, Nike, and Journeys to either carry shoes in kids size wide or partner with the BILLY footwear company to ensure that their shoes are available to more children in Charleston, South Carolina.
