As students of a leading business school, we feel severely disadvantaged and unfairly treated by the restriction on the use of Excel for the Finance Final Exam. This petition serves as a means to show the Academic Board that, despite the risk of cheating, banning Excel is not the right decision.
In class, most of the assignments are illustrated using Excel. This is also the approach we will take as future managers.
Depriving us of the opportunity to test and show our knowledge of this tool during the most important exam of the semester is not the standard we expected when we applied to ESCP.

Reaching this level of participation signals that many of us recognize the misalignment between our current coursework and the final testing requirements. It is heartening to see such a clear consensus regarding the practical tools we need to succeed as future managers.

Exactly what I was thinking. So outdated.
PLEASE update the exam policy. We need to be efficient not just good at arithmetic
I am tired of wasting time on spreadsheets by hand when I could be finishing the finance formulas in seconds on my laptop. This needs to change.
Ridiculous that we have to do manual calculations in 2019. Let us use the tools we actually use in the real world.
There's no point doing a pen and paper test while we are taught using Excel. Save the planet and digitalise!
