This petition represents a want to bring back the exam review format from last semester. The results of this petition will be shared with Teaching and Learning to represent the class’ feelings on the issue
We are required to watch our Communications Lab recordings and give ourselves feedback. It is strange to emphasize the importance of reflecting our own performance and giving ourselves What-went-well-even-better-yet feedbacks in one course and not the other.

We would like the opportunity to grow as individuals and help see our common mistakes and learn from them. By allowing us to revisit previous problems we encountered, we can see where we went wrong and correct that mistake in the future, ultimately making better veterinarians.

I feel very strongly that no longer being able to review our exams is a major detriment to my overall education and is not fair to students who have upheld the code of student conduct. I’m not the type to give feedback and this is the one issue I care most about. I do not remember what most of the questions are following the exam. When I follow up with professors for clarification on questions, they have to figure out what the question was first and will forget to follow up or not fully answer my questions. I think smaller monitored sessions or another monitored option should be offered. The examplify reviews showing the LOs of what the concept was have been little to no help to me in seeing what I got wrong.

Not being able to see material that we missed on the exams is a detriment to our education. Simply giving us a general “topic” we missed is not sufficient, as topics are extremely broad and cover a huge volume of material.

Just giving us the topic breakdown (which is very vague and not at all helpful) is bot conducive to learning. I’ve read the “supporting” research paper and frankly it does not support this new system and I don’t know why it was interpreted as such. Listing all of Dr. Shreegs questions for example as “urinary tract histology” is vague and barely accurate and does not help me narrow down what I need to study. It’s also an inappropriate use of lecturers time to expect them to respond to hundreds of individual emails. Overall this was poorly thought out and ill advised.

Posting exam review topics is not helpful weeks later when I can no longer remember the specifics of the test. The review topics are too vague to be helpful.
