We, the undersigned Year 2 students of the International and European Law Program at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, hereby request, that the Exam Board of Public Management, Safety & Law extends its exemption to Article 4.11 (3) of the Program and Exam Regulations 2015-2016 for Year 3 students in the academic year 2016-2017. The change of the resit policy in the Program and Exam Regulations 2015-2016 has not been properly promulgated for us to respond and make arrangements, neither could we have benefited from the exemption in the academic year 2015-2016. Thus, we demand that the blanket exemption is further extended for Year 3 students in the academic year 2016-2017.

It is not too much to ask for some consistency in these regulations. Please reconsider.

Totally unfair to change the rules without telling us properly. Just let us retake the exams!!!

The communication from the board has been terrible lately. We deserve better notice than this.

The opportunity to take the resit exam should be held in the hands of students. It's nothing wrong for us to be better and perfect. At least the exam board should communicate with us for the policy changing and respond.

From a program that teaches us law and justice you would expect that they would uphold certain values, like timely notification. Moreover, we only wish to be able to improve ourselves and the examboard should be glad we want to do so!

Somewhat loosely and half-heartedly informing the students of such a disadvantaging change to the exam regulations at the end of year two can hardly be seen as appropriate, or well executed by the Exam board. As a year two student who has been under the impression that he can re-take Y2 exams in year three for whatever reason, it seems rather rude that such a gravitational change is made without letting the Y2´s know about this before they write 16 challenging exams a year… If such change is nonetheless made for whatever inconceivable reasons, I would suggest it makes more sense to apply it only to Y1 students as they have not yet entered the main stage of their studies yet (unlike the Y2´s. To leave your student body for an entire year in the belief that they have a further chance to work harder and better in Y3, only to take that chance away from them in a “by the way” manner at the end of the year, I must say I don’t see as appropriate or fair.
