By signing this petition, you are requesting that the Piedmont School Board delay the vote to adopt Everyday Math on June 25th in order to allow parents, teachers and the Board of Directors more time to consider the implementation of this highly controversial program that has failed in so many communities in the Bay Area and nationwide.

Updates

June 16, 2008

The momentum we have built proves that the Piedmont School Board cannot simply ignore us while they rush this failed curriculum through. This is the sign that our community is waking up to their incompetence and we are not going to back down until this vote is delayed.

Too many red flags with this program. Why is the board pushing this so hard in the summer when parents are away? Wait until fall.

My kid is already struggling enough with the current curriculum. We dont need to rush into something that clearly isnt working elsewhere. Please slow down.

Everyday Math is a total disaster. Do not adopt this.

Ridiculous to vote so quickly. We need more time to look at the data. Stop rushing this before we ruin our kids math education.

We just want what is best for the schools. Why the hurry? Give us a chance to actually read the materials before making a decision that affects everyone.

Listen to the teachers. They have serious concerns about this and they are the ones using it everyday. Postpone the vote!
