The Elmwood Village is a neighborhood that is defined by its architectural heritage and that in turn defines the character of Buffalo. Buffalo's resurgence would not be possible without its historic housing stock and the cohesiveness of neighborhoods like the Elmwood Village. By wrecking all these buildings the developer will do significant and irreparable damage to our city. Ciminelli wants to capitalize on the attractiveness of the EV, but is destroying it in the process. The effect of the end result can easily be seen in previous development sins like 366 Elmwood, 507 Elmwood, and 33 Linwood. This planned demolition sets a terrible precedent, since in no time there won't be anything left of neighborhoods like the EV.

There are plenty of other spaces more appropriate to build larger buildings on. To do so in the village will ruin it, We don't need any more faux structures. These buildings, these bricks, carry memories and authenticity that cannot be replaced.

Ciminelli is out for one thing and one thing only: extracting the maximum profit from available land and air rights.

I was against the original plan which would have flown in the face of the Green Code and meant 5 story buildings in an area not suited to them. I am not against this construction so long as Ciminelli adheres to the new code. I do not feel that every brick of every façade in this city requires preservation. As long as the Green Code is fully complied with, let them build.

The proposed demolitions and new builds are so out of character of the Elmwood Village, the Olmsted Parkway(s), and the surrounding neighborhoods and ought not to be allowed. Don't let Ciminelli bully this through and degrade a nationally recognized Top 10 neighborhood and beautiful area of Buffalo.

Please don't allow them to demolish successful, thriving businesses -- bring development like these downtown where it's needed most, and fits in better.

The city has worked for years to get the Green Code in place. This proposal will be the litmus test to see if it will actually be enforced. No variances! No demolitions! Adaptive reuse is possible with these buildings and that is what the community wants.
