After being a cycling commuter, an ESF planning student, and an intern with the Syracuse Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, I wholeheartedly believe in a more in-depth bike plan for Euclid Avenue. Such a plan is both necessary and wanted on such an important road, especially with the variety of users. A clearer bicycle route would not only make it easier for new cyclists to adhere to traffic rules in the area, but for vehicles to become more comfortable with sharing the road.

ESF student. Myself and a good friend have both been hit this fall on Euclid. I've had many close calls. Reckless drivers should be pulled over and ticketed routinely until bike lanes are added. Thanks

The successful plan will address the needs of all; bicyclists, pedestrians, motorists, snowplows, mass transit, homeowners, landlords and the taxpayers that will be paying for and maintaining the solution.

As a cyclist who travels Euclid to school and back home, I have had many near collisions with vehicles who do not want to share the road with bikers. In addition, alternate parking forces bikers to have to ride in the road, which makes accidents more likely. I also bike at night because of my work schedule, which is dangerous on Euclid when bicycles and cars must share the same road. I do not want to give up biking as it is environmentally friendly and a way for me to stay in shape. A bike lane would reduce chances of injury, accident, and allow bikers to have a comfortable ride to campus.

This is a serious topic which needs to be addressed. I will be living on Euclid in two years and if there is a law passed about a bike lane, even for a certain amount of hours, would be greatly appreciated. Also plenty of my friends who have had near miss incidents on Euclid, and this concerns me for their sake.

I was practically run off the road into the ledge of the sidewalk today near the corner of comstock and Euclid! A car got so close to be it almost ran right into me so I had to squeeze over the 2 inches I could and scraped my foot on the curb!

Freshman at SUNY ESF. I will be living on Ackerman next year, and will likely be biking between home and school at least once a day.

Take a page form Washington DC traffic patterns and make Euclid one way in from 7:30-12:30 then one way out from 12:30-5:30 - Both ways after 5:30 until 7:30. Limit parking between 7:30 and 5:30 as well.

I am a SU student that rides her bike to class. Even the simple bike lane that connects Main Campus and South Campus makes me feel much safer than when I ride elsewhere.

I am an active member of the community and use the road and Euclid lane regularly. I view of my saftey and the safety of all my friends and fellow students with bikes, it is imperative that civic authorities make a biker lane available to us. We'd not only be grateful but also use it well.

It's an important route for bicycle commuters to SU/ESF and to Nottingham HS. Current design puts walkers, cyclists and driver into direct competition for space. Traffic flow misunderstandings could cost lives.

Euclid is not safe for bikers, walkers, nor drivers. A bike lane would help increase safety and allow everyone to coexist on one street.
