As an Austrian, living and working in Great Britain for over 30 years, I regarded having to change my nationality unnecessary, as being European seemed to be enough.

Even though I am nearly 50 years old, I have been very fortunate and privileged to have been able to enjoy a Europe without restrictions. Born in Germany, have lifed in Irelnd for 4 and England for 8.5 years. I have lived, loved, dated and married... and worked. And my friends from the UK have enjoyed the same in reverse. Unity and harmony have never caused war; division and a false sense of patriotism have; often! We must not return to that kind of Europe

I am not a UK academic, but a Dutch manager of Erasmus+ projects. Before that: projects in the LifeLong Learning Programme. Before that: Socrates projects. In all those many years, I've worked with UK academics, UK teachers, UK researchers. I do NOT want our collaboration to end, just because .... actually, for no reason at all?

Currently traveling around Europe and am mortified by the result of the referendum. However my fellow Europeans whom we have met on travels have been very supportive and still respect us as European.

I voted remain and I am devastated with the outcome. I am doing all I can to get the decision reversed.
As a Commonwealth citizen, I exercised my right to vote in the referendum, in favour of "Remain".
I am an Irish citizen and had voting rights in the referendum. I've studied and worked in the UK since 2007.
