Hello students and faculty. My name is Ben Smith, and I am currently the class president of the fourth semester students in Kingsport. The idea behind this petition is to advocate for changing the 75% exam policy. We will not be able to fully expel the policy, but we could possibly try to advocate for this policy being implemented on new incoming students while grandfathering out current students as current students in the program are not familiar with these didactic progression guidelines.

I greatly support this. Nursing school exams are already one of the most difficult exams we have ever encountered. Many of us are trying very hard yet struggle to get a passing grade. Adding this new policy will greatly increase anxiety and fear of failing.
This is causing fear and panic in students. Previously without this, students were passing the NCLEX
It may take a while for our opinion to be considered, but I’m signing this petition in the hope that this action is going to impact the future of all ETSU nursing students.
I am in full agreement! It’s just added stress, not helpful to us when it comes to NCLEX either!
I along with the other student of 4th semester believe that implementing the 75% rule is unfair to current college of nursing students. If this is going to be a new thing it needs to be done to incoming first semester students. We as a class can not focus on learning because we are so worried about not even passing the class. There are only a handful of teachers who actually help us and want us to learn, the rest are there for a paycheck and could not care less and it shows. This is a program I would not recommend to anyone considering it and things need to be changed.

This rule is completely ridiculous. We are all already stressed enough with clinicals and trying to keep our GPA up. Please rethink this for those of us already in the program.
