Trust that you are well. The creation of this petition has been a class discussion for the past few days. We, the ISTN Honours Class of 2016, are requesting for an extension with regards to the Ethical Hacking Assignment. We are experiencing major technical issues such as major lags as well as BSOD and boot problems when installing Kali Linux. Along with that, the systems and websites in the tutorials that are been taught,through videos and demonstratons for programs such as Kali Linux, Hackthissite, Nmap etc, are using open ports with minimal security so its seeming quite easy to capture data. However, due to our assignment been focused on a real life company, the security is quite tight and is restricitng us from capturing data needed for the document. This is done through honeypots, firewalls, pattern tracking etc. Therefore, we are pleading for an extension regarding the due date as we are trying our utmost hardest to obtain exceptionally well results. Due to the strike, we are being restricted from using the LAN computers at UKZN to avoid technical errors. We once again urge for an extension on the due date.

The technical obstacles regarding the installation of Kali Linux persist for many of us. We are currently consolidating our findings to present a formal request for an extension to the faculty.

The momentum generated by this petition accurately reflects the significant technical obstacles our cohort faces. This collective support confirms that our request for an extension is both reasonable and necessary for academic success.

due to installation of Kali. My laptop is now officially being sent for repairs. Technician suspects that the motherboard is gone. All work produced so far was on the hard drive. I only have a copy of the raw data as backup and compilation of the document will need more time to redo. Feeling helpless!
We sincerely plead for an extension due to the unforeseen circumstances as noted in the letter

Hi guys please don't gamble with this one. make sure you submit otherwise you going to regret the decision of not submitting. Prof Maharaj does not take stories. I'm sure you don't want to learn it in a hard way. petition won't work trust me.
When we agreed on the due dates for the various assignments it was clear that these deadlines were not flexible. Especially when you have had a long time to start the assignment. You were well aware that leaving things to the last minute will possibly lead to problems. NO extension can be granted.

With both the security modules assignments truly being affected by these holidays, strikes and protests. I feel that we should be compensated for these few weeks of strife.
