We the undersigned call on Vion Foods to reverse their decision to pay all beef and sheep farmers directly. We request that Vion allows farmers' marketing groups to continue to be paid as a group.
We are concerned that payment direct to all farmers reduces individual farmers' choice in their route to market, and could have damaging consequences for the future of rural communities through accelerated farm amalgamation and resultant depopulation.
This is phase 2 of our campaign. Our initial petition was signed by several hundred people. Please help us increase this number further with our new petition site.

Seeing this level of support confirms that so many of you understand the threat to our rural communities. I started this because my own neighbors are facing these exact pressures and knowing you are behind us gives me real hope.

Support rural communities not big business. Fix this now.
This is ridiculous. Leave the marketing groups alone they provide actual support to small farms who cant handle the big corporate nonsense alone.
