Soror Ethel Hedgeman Lyle started an organization that has lasted the test of time for 108 years Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. the first African American sorority founded for women. So deserving of this honor, therefore, I petition the USPS to launch a stamp in her honor and to honor this historic organization.

Ethel Hedgeman Lyle was the guiding light that created the first collegiate sorority founded by African American women, Alpha Kappa Alpha,Inc. She should be honored for being such a trailblazer in American History.
