A historical figure of #blackexcellence, Ms. Hedgemen-Lyle was more than a founder of an African- American institution, she is a piece of American History. In addition to her contributions in the founding and development of AKA, she was an educator, and Civic Leader within the community at a time when Black Women struggled to have their voices heard and achievements championed and celebrated. For this, we petition for her to be commemorated on a US postage stamp.
