I had a meeting on May 14 2010 with local Midleton TD David Stanton of Fine Gael. The meeting was to ask him questions about the provision of another second level school for Midleton. My children currently attend the Midleton Educate Together primary school. My concern is that once my children have been through the primary school system, they will be able to continue onto an Educate Together second level school.
Now here we are in August 2011
The Government has decided that a new second level school will be built in Midleton.
The patronage of the school has not been determined.
We would hope that many parents would like to see an Educate Together school as the model chosen for Midleton.

democratically run.
It really is worth supporting, it is the best and fairest way to get your children educated properly and to enable them to thrive in the 21st century.

I am currently organizing a formal document to present to the Department of Education outlining the demand for an Educate Together model. Several local representatives have agreed to meet with me to discuss the patronage process.

The volume of support has reached a point where it is no longer possible for the Department of Education to ignore our request. I am currently preparing a formal briefing document to present at the next planning session with local representatives.

About time. Parents want a choice. Give us a ET second level.
My son loves his current school. Would be a crying shame if he had to leave the ethos behind in a few years.
The existing local schools are full to the brim. Build it now.
long overdue. the primary school is excellent and it makes no sense to leave the kids with no place to go after.
Midleton is growing so fast and we really need more options for the kids. Educate together has been great for us so far.

YES PLEASE. we need diversity in our school system here in east cork. stop dragging your feet on this!
